Linkin Park - 06/06/2026
So today is the day after the Neocities outage, and I was planning on writing up a blog post yesterday and adding the Archives. Instead I ended up doing a little more work on Iridensia's 33rd chapter and made a good bit of progress in pushing the whole thing forward. Today though I'm meant to be travelling south to go see family, as I have a rare weekend off. I woke up to some awesome news though, Linkin Park have a documentary called "Unshatter" heading to cinemas.
If you spend enough time around me you WILL hear about my love of Linkin Park, my favourite band of all time and, in my opinion, the greatest band to ever exist. LP first appeared when I was around 7 years old. I vividly remember seeing the music video for "In The End" on MTV and something about it just leapt out and grabbed me by the heart. Prior to hearing Linkin Park, music had always felt kind of flat, empty and colourless to me, but the second I heard Mike and Chester singing it was like someone had set off a grenade within me that made me really "get" music. Seriously as I type this I'm watching a YouTube video of their 2026 Rock Am Ring performance and grinning like an idiot as Emily belts out "Breaking The Habit". This band has been foundational to me as a person and my taste in music.
One of my greatest regrets in life is that I never got to see Chester perform live in person, but I did get to see Mike perform at the Roundhouse in London, while he was on the Post Traumatic tour, and my wife managed to wrangle us tickets to go see Linkin Park at their first performance in London and it was EVERYTHING I hoped it to be. I'm really looking forward to next year which will be the 20th Anniversary of "Minutes to Midnight", which is also the first album I ever bought myself.
I'll probably go into a broader dive into my musical tastes at some point, but right now, I'm gonna jam to my favourite band.
